UM London was awarded top honors at the Campaign Media Awards for its outstanding work on the Royal Mail “Gold Medal Stamps” campaign at the 2012 Olympics.
Winning the Best Financial, Corporate & Utilities campaign, Royal Mail “Gold Medal Stamps” caught the eye of the judges with its use of real-time technology and round-the-clock dedication throughout the 2012 Olympics to advertise each Team Great Britain gold medal winner’s stamp as and when they were won.
“The ‘Gold Medal Stamps’ campaign is the most successful in the agency’s history and it’s fantastic that all the hard work and high quality media planning has been rewarded,” said Russell Place, Managing Director, UM London. “By challenging media norms, we helped drive our client’s business to record levels and we are very proud of that. Our brand positioning once again rings true with this record-breaking year proving that Curiosity really Works.”
The Campaign Media Awards, the most prestigious on the UK awards calendar, consist of twelve highly competitive categories. Our UM London team has averaged at least one win per year for the last decade. This latest award win comes on the heels of UM London’s triumph at the MiAwards, where “Gold Medal Stamps” picked up another two wins, one in the Best Sports or Leisure Marketing Strategy or Campaign category as well as the Winner of the Strategy Grand Prix.
UM London has now won fifteen major industry awards for its business-driving work for clients in 2013, including a coveted Cannes Lion for “Gold Medal Stamps” – a record haul.
Let’s congratulate the talented London team and celebrate the inspiring work they are producing. Well done!
