UM London triumphed at the 2013 Drum Marketing Awards, which rewards and celebrates the UK’s most effective marketing strategies, picking up the prize for best Media Planning and Buying Strategy as well as the Grand Prix – both for its “Gold Medal Winner Stamps” campaign for Royal Mail.
The campaign, fastly becoming the agency’s most awarded work of all time, supported the sale of Royal Mail’s record-breaking commemorative stamps during the London 2012 Olympics, which celebrated every Team Great Britain gold medal win and were available within just 24 hours.
UM London used clever tactics and impressive real-time media planning across outdoor, print, radio and online to inform the public of the latest wins as and when they happened, generating impressive sales results and a campaign that truly captured the public’s imagination.
The work has already picked up an impressive amount of industry accolades, including the Chairman’s Award at the Creative Out-of-Home Awards 2012 and shortlists at the Global Festival of Media Awards 2013, the Rev Awards, Marketing Week Engage Awards and the Digitals.
