UM Japan has signed Hachette Collections, securing two campaigns – the Nostalgic Train Collections and Knit/Crochet – slated to begin in February.
Hachette Collections Japan publishes partworks collections covering a number of interests and hobbies for a wide range of generations in Japan, spanning from young children to older adults. Hachette Collections Japan is the subsidiary of the French publishing group Hachette Livre.
Created in 1826, Hachette Livre is the world’s second largest trade book publisher, with sales of 2.273 billion Euros (about $78 billion yen) in 2009. It publishes over 17,000 new titles a year under more than one hundred different imprints in a dozen languages, and covers all segments of trade publishing: general fiction and non-fiction, mass market pocket books, books for young readers, illustrated books, travel guides, school books, as well as partworks.
A significant win for UM Japan, Hachette Collections is looking to spend over $4 million in media in 2014.
